Millions of racing between web, PC, USB dongle and this device during the initial setup. If setting up in 4 places is not ridiculous enough, you also need to go back and forth between these 4 places. You go to the website, download a software, install it, write down the serial # on the USB dongle, insert the USB dongle, then go back to the website to create an account, then go back to the PC to register, then power on the device, registration failed, press a button to try again, pressed the button, failed again, again... Finally go back to website to register the device, go back to device to press a button to register again, go back to website to select your county (right, you cannot just put in your city name), go to PC to press a button...... still follow me? you've got the idea.
A good design would be: set up everything in the PC software, submit it once to the server, then simply power on the device to go.
If you want to have more than 1 area, you must pay $10.

Check tomorrow\'s weather forecast at any time on the screen of this internet-powered weather forecaster from La Crosse Technology. Via wireless communications from the internet, the Weather Direct WD-3106UR-B forecaster relates the next four days\' projected high and low temperatures and sky conditions for the forecast location, selected from over 60,000 US and Canadian location options. The user enables forecast transmission by turning on an internet-equipped computer, and plugging the provided USB transceiver into an open USB port.
The display stands alone or wall hangs. The top section displays the internet-set time, indoor temperature, and the current day\'s expected temperatures and forecast icon. In the center LCD section, the following three days\' forecasted temperatures and icons are posted; forecasts update every six hours. The selected location, location forecast, and sunrise/sunset times scroll across the bottom LCD section. Using the buttons on the back of the display, users can display the date, adjust LCD contrast and scrolling speed, set the alarm, and view micro forecasts for morning, afternoon, evening, and night conditions. The USB transceiver communicates with the display from up to 100 feet unobstructed. No additional software or Wi-Fi connection is required for forecaster operation. However, the system does necessitate a computer, high-speed internet service, and the separate purchase of three AA batteries. To receive outdoor temperatures, La Crosse offers a TX-50U remote sensor for separate purchase. A limited one-year warranty covers the forecaster. The forecaster measures 4-3/4 inches wide by 1-1/2 inches deep by 5-1/6 inches high.
