(More customer reviews)I, too, had difficulty removing the screws from the remote unit's battery cover. One of them was stripped and wouldn't come out. Eventually just pried it off. Took some fiddling to get remote sensor and main unit to communicate. Contrast on LCD screen is poor, except from one specific viewing angle. Backlight is ok, but who wants to walk over to the thing and press it, just to see the temp? I bought this one to replace another Taylor indoor/outdoor wireless unit that lasted less then a year, so I guess I should have known better. Oh yeah, it doesn't come with batteries either (requires 4 AAA).
