Thought about returning it, thinking that the 20% humidity it displayed in my centrally humidified house in Chicago was way off (outside was 10 degress F) but an HVAC tech told me that's normal due to the cold, dry conditions outside.
Totally accurate humidity monitors are priced into the hundreds, I believe.
After finding out Amazon has it priced at $79 and calling it "DEAL", I'm keeping it.
The outdoor monitor is pretty nice, too.
Uses 2 aaa and 2 aa batteries (not supplied).
