Actually, I picked this unit up new at Lowe's for forty bills. It works very well, and is very easy to set up and use. I own four weather stations (i'm a gadget nut), and this one was the easiest to use by far. The LCD display panel is nice and big, so consequently the sizeable numbers are easy on the eyesight. Accuracy is on par with one of my more expensive, 'higher end' LaCrosse Technology weather units, which is reassuring. For accuracy, my remote outdoor sensor unit is placed on an outdoor bedroom window sill between the screen and window on a shady side of the house. This way, there is enough outdoor air circulating around the sensor unit to help insure accuracy. Also, I really like the fact that the unit also constantly displays minimum and maximum temperatures for the day right next to the current indoor and outdoor temps. The packaging and instruction manual were also top-notch. Nice graphics on the box, and no twist ties to undo, or blister packs to rip open. Just unscrew the 2 plastic holders on the back of the box, and tear aside the cardboard surrounding the unit encased in easy to remove plastic. Ingenious, and convenient for the consumer- more companies should package like 'Acu-Rite'! I highly recommend this weather unit, and feel it is one of the best 'bang per buck' units available for the price I got it for.

With plenty of space between temperature display, time, date, and weather forecasts for easy reading from this chic, slim lined device, this weather station and clock combo is the answer to cluttered tough-to-read devices. The clock mechanism is equipped with a radio receiver that catches signals from US Atomic Clock transmissions and sets itself accordingly for exact, consistent time, so you\'re on time all the time. The main display shows in big, bold digits a calendar with month/day/year and day, plus indoor/outdoor temperature. s in huge digits. If it\'s too early in the morning to be reading even these huge digits, the forecaster displays weather icons prominently in the upper right hand corner indicating with icons whether the day will be cloudy, sunny rain and more; offering 14 different weather icons for a variety of weather conditions. The handy desktop unit records the daily high and low temperatures shown in smaller digits at the lower right corner next to indoor temp. Outdoor temperature, along with the day\'s highs and low are displayed in the top right, with data transmitted to the main console via the included remote, wireless weather sensor.
More great features include a 14-day learning mode for calibrating forecasts in the next 12- to 24 hours. Temperatures display in either Fahrenheit or Celsius. The remote sensor\'s transmission range is up to 100 feet (33 meters), unobstructed. The main unit uses 3 AA batteries while the sensor uses 2 AA batteries (no batteries included). Chaney backs the purchase with a 1-warranty.
