(More customer reviews)I bought this to hang in my home office and I was very impressed with it's looks. The "white void" images on Amazon don't do it justice.
As a weather man by profession, this is a very interesting piece. I am not much into the high-end home weather stations, but I really enjoy the historical weather equipment. It is interesting to see "hands-on" how people used to predict the weather in the 18th, 19th, and early 20th Centuries.

This elegant weather station assembles old and new technologies to interpret weather. The water barometer, or storm glass, is a type used since the 17th century to demonstrate variations in atmospheric pressure quickly and reliably. A low water level in the spout indicates high pressure and fair weather. The water rises in the spout indicating severe weather as pressure falls. The thermometer / hygrometer measures temperature and humidity. When the needles cross in the darkened center area, you are in the comfort zone. The storm glass and German hygro-therm are mounted on a cherry-finished solid oak stand. Water coloring powder included.
