(More customer reviews)Display unit would not link to gateway during registration process. Followed limited troubleshooting suggestions on manufacturer's website twice and repeated setup process with no luck. I posted a support request online but have only received an auto-generated acknowledgment so far. I called tech support the next day and message informs you that an operator will be on shortly to take your information so that a technical support representative can contract you in 24 to 48 hours. I decided to stay on hold to ask operator if it would really take 1-2 days but gave up after being on hold for 15 minutes and decided to return the product for a refund.

With this La Crosse Technology internet-powered wireless forecaster, one no longer needs to watch the TV weather reporter recite the weather for every corner of the county to hear one\'s local forecast. Not only does the Weather Direct WD-2513U two-day forecaster provide free internet forecasts transmitted directly to its display, but it also relays the outdoor temperature from right outside the front door with the included TX-50U wireless sensor. An included AC-powered gateway connects with a secure LAN cable to a network router for internet forecasts. Upon online registration, the user chooses forecasts from over 60,000 US and Canadian locations to view on the display.
The display stands alone or wall hangs. The selected location, location forecast, sunrise and sunset times, and outdoor temperature scroll across the bottom LCD section; four scrolling speeds are available. In the center LCD section, forecast icons and projected high and low temperatures are posted, updating every six hours. The top section displays the internet-set time and indoor temperature. Using the simple four-button interface, users view four additional micro forecasts daily: morning, afternoon, evening, and night. The buttons also enable date display, LCD contrast adjustments, Fahrenheit/Celsius selection, and alarm setting. Communicating with the display from up to 330 feet unobstructed, both the gateway and the outdoor sensor come with mounting hardware. For the best results, install the sensor out of direct rain and sunlight. No additional software or Wi-Fi connection is required, nor does the computer need to be on for forecaster operation. However, the system does necessitate high-speed internet service, a network router, and the separate purchase of three AAA and two AA batteries. A limited one-year warranty covers the forecaster.
