(More customer reviews)I purchased this TX7U sensor as an added measurement zone for a La Crosse/The Weather Channel Weather display that I bought over a year ago to monitor my front and back yards - the system originally used TX4U sensors that read temperature and humidity and relayed the data by UHF telemetry to the base display. Since the TX4U is no longer available, I purchased the TX7U, which is fully compatible. The nice thing about the TX7U is that in addition to sending live data to a base display up to 300 feet away, that it also has a built-in LCD display that shows the actual temperature and relative humidity (no need to go back to the base display to see what is being sent). I use this sensor as my third zone (my base unit displays up to 3 zones) inside my greenhouse, where I overwinter tropical palm specimens that wouldn't survive the rare freezes we see in So. Cal. every 15 to 17 years. Now I can wake up in the middle of a cold night and glance over at the base display and see what the conditions in my greenhouse actually are. I highly recommend this sensor and the LaCrosse product line.

Monitor outdoor weather conditions from multiple locations of a yard by adding an extra wireless temperature sensor to a household La Crosse Technology weather station. The TX7U thermo-hygro sensor conveys outdoor temperature and humidity readings to a weather station receiver to enable users to plan appropriately for brisk, hot, or muggy weather. Additionally, the sensor benefits from a small LCD screen to display the temperature and relative humidity percentage.
For use with any La Crosse weather stations aside from the Professional Weather Series, or as a replacement for the obsolete TX4U sensor model, the TX7U sensor transmits to the receiver at a 433.92 MHz frequency from a distance of up to 330 feet. The sensor records outdoor relative humidity from 1 to 99 percent, while its outdoor temperature measurement capabilities range from -21.8 to +157.8 degrees F. To ensure the most accurate readings, install the sensor out of direct rain and sunlight. The sensor comes with a mounting bracket and hardware for stand alone or wall mounting. For power the sensor, the separate purchase of two AA batteries is required. A limited one-year warranty covers this item. The sensor measures 1-3/4 inches wide by 1 inch deep by 6-1/5 inches high and weighs 1 pound upon shipping.
