(More customer reviews)While rated for indoor use, the specified humidity range extends down only to 25% RH, which is far from suitable for heated dwellings in cold weather. Surprising, because most other Oregon humidity sensors are rated down to 5% RH. I purchased two of the BTHR968 sensors for evaluation as well as several other Oregon sensors. Once the RH drops below about 20%, the displayed reading on one of the BTHR968 takes a nosedive to about 8%.
The transmission frequency stability of both of the BTHR968 units is questionable. Although they both transmit data every 38 seconds (about 15 seconds apart) according to the LEDs on the units, the transmissions may not be received for over an hour at a time. Sometimes the data is received regularly from both units, sometimes from only one or the other, and sometimes from neither. Both of these are within 6 feet from the receiver. Transmissions from other Oregon sensors are received and only rarely miss a beat.

The Baro-Hygrometer measures indoor temperature and humidity, and barometric pressure. The temperature operating range is 23F-122F with an accuracy resolution of 0.2F; this data is transmitted to the display unit every 38-seconds. The humidity operating range is 25% to 95%RH with an accuracy resolution of 1%. Updating of relative humidity information to the display unit occurs every 37-seconds. The barometric pressure operating range is 17.72inHg to 31.02inHg with an accuracy resolution of 0.03inHg. Data updating to the display unit of relative humidity occurs once an hour.

(More customer reviews)I checked very carefully, and this *is* the model I have. This is a GREAT, easy to set up, easy to use product that I wouldn't trade for anything. It has been prominent in my kitchen for over a year now, and I love it!
There is a slight catch: you do have to read the directions. Apparently, this a far more daunting challenge for most people than I would have guessed, as they only took me about five minutes to read.
Yes, the moon phases can appear backwards, but the illuminated portion of the clock matches the illuminated portion of the moon. This is a very minor complaint and after I got used to it (again, about five minutes), it hasn't thrown me off since.
Again, yes, you have to put a thermometer outside to have the outside temperature. I'm not sure what the other reviewer was expecting. On the plus side, I've always found it extremely accurate, and what's more, the signal appears to be able to pass through an entire house with no problem.
But, no, this clock adjusts itself and I haven't had to worry about resetting it for a long time.
I love this thing and never plan on replacing it with anything else. After reading these other reviews, I guess my only complaint is that it doesn't have a drink ready for me when I get home.
BTW, I find myself using the moon phases a lot more than I would've guessed.

(More customer reviews)After about 3 months the switch started clicking inside when it wasn't in use. At first I thought nothing of it. Then I started noticing it was hot when I went to make a pot of coffee even though I hadn't been home all day. As time has passed (over the course of the last month) the heat (when off) has been rising. This is ironic since it wouldn't make a "HOT" cup of coffee in the first place.
I've been unplugging it recently when I'm not using it to be safe while waiting for my new one to arrive (definitely not made by HB) and in the past week I've forgotten to unplug it twice. I've come home to open it to STEAM and IMMENSE heat to the tune of the used filter being black at the top from being cooked. I would definitely stay away from this lest you want a fire to erupt. Today marks the last pot of coffee I'll have from this coffee maker.

As a weather man by profession, this is a very interesting piece. I am not much into the high-end home weather stations, but I really enjoy the historical weather equipment. It is interesting to see "hands-on" how people used to predict the weather in the 18th, 19th, and early 20th Centuries.

The size and buttons make it easy to handle with gloves on. The main display has most of the information you will need without pushing a lot of buttons. Nevertheless the buttons are logical and the information is easy to find. I'll post another review once I have a chance to use it more in the field.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this TX7U sensor as an added measurement zone for a La Crosse/The Weather Channel Weather display that I bought over a year ago to monitor my front and back yards - the system originally used TX4U sensors that read temperature and humidity and relayed the data by UHF telemetry to the base display. Since the TX4U is no longer available, I purchased the TX7U, which is fully compatible. The nice thing about the TX7U is that in addition to sending live data to a base display up to 300 feet away, that it also has a built-in LCD display that shows the actual temperature and relative humidity (no need to go back to the base display to see what is being sent). I use this sensor as my third zone (my base unit displays up to 3 zones) inside my greenhouse, where I overwinter tropical palm specimens that wouldn't survive the rare freezes we see in So. Cal. every 15 to 17 years. Now I can wake up in the middle of a cold night and glance over at the base display and see what the conditions in my greenhouse actually are. I highly recommend this sensor and the LaCrosse product line.

(More customer reviews)The temperature and humidity portion of this unit works very, both the indoor and outdoor. The real problem is in the barometric pressure readings. I have had two of these units and both failed in the same manner. They work well for about five days the start displaying erratic pressure readings then displays only dashes for the pressure. I have contacted LaCrosse service and they gave me a list of things to check, which I did. Nothing helped. They then suggested that I return the unit to them at my expense and they would try to find the problem, no guarantees. I did not feel that I should send a new defective unit to LaCrosse service at my expense, so I have returned it to Amazon for a refund. Be aware of this unit.

Imagine his surprise when he opened the Taylor Wireless Weather Station with Clock. We decided to keep both and put one in the front and one in the back. Our back yard faces North and has a dry wash behind it where the cold air collects. Our front yard faces South and has been averaging 7 to 10 degrees warmer in the day time and 4 to 5 degrees warmer at night. The Taylor Station has more features and was a little more complicated to set up but the directions were good and it is working fine. We were pleased that we could plug it in to an electrical outlet and not depend just on batteries.

Oregon Scientific THT328 Window Thermometer Review

(More customer reviews)It doesn't say on the outside packaging, but apparently this thermometer only goes down to 14 degrees F/-10C. The highest it goes is 122F/50C.
If it goes bellow 37F/3C it will flash continuously and show you an ice symbol for... some reason.
In short: this really isn't a winter-friendly thermometer.
Also, it's a bit difficult to open and to set the clock, because you have to hold the batteries in while you set it and make sure they don't shift while you screw the back on again.
I know it's meant to mount on the window, but it would be nice to have a choice to mount it further out where inside temperatures could not influence it. It has no hooks or tabs or anything to do that with.
On the upside, the numbers are very large and clear, and I can see them clearly from my couch, which is about 15 feet from the device.
As long as it doesn't get bellow 14F (which it's scheduled to do soon, which is kind of why I got the thermometer...) I think this is probably going to work out okay. It seems like a sturdy little device.
I will update this review if I have any more problems with it.
EDIT: Well, there is one big problem with this thing. You CAN NOT put it in a place that gets direct sunlight if you want an accurate reading. I've been comparing it to the Weatherbug website, and when it's in the shade, it matches Weatherbug. When it's in the sun though, it shows a significantly higher temperature, even if the air itself is quite cold.
At least it seems to be durable, although I kind of hope it breaks soon.
