I am pleased with the simple, retro look of this outdoor barn light. It was the perfect nostalgic touch for our little red barn. The quality of the fixture is good, the soft silver metal finish is nice and the metal thick enough to stand up well. It is white inside for good light reflection. It is a down light so it doesn't add light upward into the night sky. Also, the price is hard to beat as I discovered by carefully searching the web for this style of light.

Orbit 57009 Sprinkler System 1-2 Horsepower Pump Start Relay Review

Orbit 57009 Sprinkler System 1-2 Horsepower Pump Start Relay

This is the second pump start relay I've had to install for my irrigation well in the past three years. Two lightening strikes have required this. The orbit unit is compact and nicely waterproofed. Unfortunately, this unit is just as susceptible to lightening strikes as the Rainbird unit that I had originally used. In fact, the most recent lightening strike was not a direct strike, only a surge through the line. The well pump was protected by a lightening arrestor, and I thought the timer unit was protected by having been unplugged at the time (during the late winter when I had not yet begun irrigation). However, due to lack of any sort of surge protection on the 24V line linking the pump start relay and the timer, a surge went into the timer via this 24V line, destroying the timer as well. So, the new Orbit unit does exactly what it's intended to do. I will rewire the 24V line so that I can easily disconnect it from the timer when I do not need to use the irrigation system to avoid losing another pump start relay AND timer.
