Here's how wretched La Crosse Technology's technical support is.
My WD-3307 arrived on 9 December, and was quickly registered through the Weather Direct website. The unit performed flawlessly, and I was quite impressed--until Christmas Day, when display updates simply stopped. I discovered that the unit's gateway module wasn't transmitting to the display, even when the two components were only a couple of feet apart. After a few minutes, I performed the factory reset of the gateway module as described in the owner's manual. That proved to be an enormous mistake, because you can't reregister the gateway module at the Weather Direct website unless a Weather Direct person does something at their end. And guess what? They can't even be bothered to answer their telephone, let alone do something.
I started calling the WD technical support line, on Friday, 26 December. IT WAS NEVER ANSWERED! (I let it ring for up to two minutes.) I tried again on Monday. Once again, it rang interminably each time I called until late in the day, when an automated system finally picked up and I was able to leave voicemail with my name and 'phone number. No one called that night or the following day, so I left another voicemail message Tuesday. That was the last time I could even leave voicemail at the WD number, since it went back to ringing forever when I called after that.
During this period, I was also trying the La Crosse Technology technical support 'phone number, with similar results. At least LCT's voicemail was always available--not that my call was ever returned.
Almost twelve hours ago, I once again left voicemail at the LCT technical support number, threatening to let Amazon customers know about LCT's post-sale support. The fact that you're reading this means that last call wasn't returned, either. That's TEN DAYS without a peep from them. Way to go, Weather Direct and LCT. Two weeks ago, I was telling people how good the Weather Direct stuff is. Now? Save your money, people. You don't need the aggravation.

With its advanced technology and range of readouts, the Weather Direct multi-line weather station keeps the forecast and other vital facts at the ready without requiring you to turn on the TV or check the computer. Created by La Crosse Technology, the unit communicates wirelessly with a dedicated website to deliver continuously updated 24-hour forecasts for 60,000 North American locations. Along the way, it tracks time, date, remote-sensor temperature, daily highs and lows, and the anticipated time of both sunrise and sunset.
A high-speed Internet connection and a wireless router are needed to run the Weather Direct, but no software is required and no subscription is necessary. Forecasts are available for morning, afternoon, evening, and night for up to four days out, allowing for more accurate preparations and simplified planning. A series of icons communicates the numerous readings, which include chance of precipitation, rainfall in inches, hours of sunshine, barometric pressure, and wind gust/speed/direction. The bottom LCD line scrolls the current outdoor temperature, selected location, sunrise and sunset times, and forecast. An alarm with snooze is also included.
La Crosse Technology packages this version of the Weather Direct with one remote sensor and a LAN cable to connect to a network router. The wireless range is 330 feet, and use of a PC is necessary during setup or to customize features. A membership to theweatherclub.com is also part of the package, which lets you monitor your backyard conditions from anywhere in the world. Expanding the system to additional remote sensors is also possible, with their separate purchase, and adding forecast alerts through the National Weather Service is another option.
The base device display measures 7-1/2 by 1-1/4 by 7-5/8 inches, and the outdoor sensor is 1-1/2 by 1/2 by 8 inches. The system takes two AA batteries and two C batteries, not included, and La Crosse Technology backs it with a one-year warranty.
