(More customer reviews)I chose this device because all I really wanted was indoor and outdoor temperature in a small, non-obtrusive design. This is the only weather station that fit my bill. For $30, you get the indoor unit, which is very thin and has a big, easy to read display with indoor and outdoor temperature along with the high and low for the day. It can sit on a table or hang on the wall. The outdoor unit has a multi-position bracket, and easily mounts using two screws in a weather-protected place (like under an eave). I enjoy getting up and seeing what the temperature is so I don't have to go "feel" what it's like.
March 29, 2010 - One year later, this unit is still doing just fine. I am thrilled the batteries have lasted over a year in the outdoor unit.

Straightforward, useful, and wireless to boot, the WS-9080U-IT temperature station from La Crosse Technology tells at a glance what the thermometer is up to. Great for tracking garden conditions and preparing for the day\'s adventures, the 2-piece unit includes an indoor display and an outdoor sensor. The receiver screen simultaneously shows indoor and outdoor temperatures, as well as continuously tracking minimum and maximum temps. For added convenience, the station also tells unfailingly precise time by means of atomic clock transmissions and displays the date in the upper corner. To gauge wine cellars, green houses, and outbuildings, the station can also accommodate up to two additional outdoor sensors.
Measuring 5-2/5 by 3-3/4 by 3/4 inches, the receiver features a tabletop stand and communicates with the sensor up to 330 feet away, assuming obstruction is minimal. The sensor measures 5 by 1-1/2 by 7/8 inches and has an outdoor temp range of -39.8 to 157.8 degrees F. Both units require two AA batteries, which are not included.
