Oregon Scientific RMR500ES Clima-Control Solar Powered Climate Monitor and Weather Forecaster with Mold Alert Review

I have owned an Oregon Scientific thermometer before and I was interested to see if my THR268 sensor would work with this unit. It does, it is not the modern sensor that comes with the unit that displays humidity so that part of the reading is blank but it does display the temperature.
I have a two bedroom apartment and I do try and keep each room at one consistent temperature on top of tracking the temperature outside and this one unit provides a centralized location for me to check each room's temperature throughout the day.
With the cold weather here in Washington causing static electricity within the apartment, I was able to track the humidity percentage in the main room after putting on a pot of water. Works like a charm!
The weather picture indicator isn't always accurate but that seems so minimal compared to the reason why I purchased the unit and it provides a good laugh or paniced pause when it says that it snowing and it isn't.
The package comes with several colorful indicator labels that simply click into the hard plastic screen (you either use the ones that are provided or you write your own). A battery is provided for power back-up to the rechargeable battery that is also provided. I received the unit while it was raining so it took me a few days before I could put it outside but once a non-rainy overcast day came, I left it out all day and I haven't had to recharge it since. Also in the box was one sensor that you put outside and another to put in a room that displays the temperature and humidity percentage on the sensor as well as the main unit indicator; the main unit also displays the sensors battery level. You can have up to four sensors and if you don't have four sensors, the bottom two areas can be used for date and time. The instructions said it could take up to 24 hours to receive the time from Colorado but it was accurate within seconds. The main unit numbers are large and could be read by someone who might need larger print.
I purchased this item blind back in October, no reviews only my trust in the manufacture, and I'm very pleased with my purchase.

Oregon Scientific WR113 Weather Radio with Temperature and Freeze Alarm Review

Oregon Scientific WR113 Weather Radio with Temperature and Freeze Alarm
Average Reviews:

Bought the Oregon Scientific Weather Radio on their reputation as being a top notch innovative company. I have owned an older version of a weather radio 8 years ago and wanted to get a newer model that had better reception. Radio also came with AC adapter which is a selling point.
The Good: Ordered it from Amazon and got it in three days. Super fast.
Radio's yellow color is easy to locate in a hurry. Radio sensitivity was good.
The Bad: Radio is below par for Oregon Scientific. As read on other reviews of the WR103 (similar to WR113) on the net, the temperature reading is way off. Was reading 75 degrees when my digital thermostat read 68. Believe me, it was not 75 degrees.

Other problem right out of the box was that the received station cut out every ten seconds just as if it was programmed to do that. You could set your clock to the every ten seconds the audio cut out all you heard was hiss. Thought it was the station so I turned on the old radio and the signal was there all the time just as always. Called Oregon Scientific and could not get through in three days. Sent them an email and received a note that they would contact me within four(4) days. How many bad products could they now be selling that it takes customer service four days to return a call. They never got back to me. I returned it to Amazon and got a refund.
Oregon Scientific - Do away with that annoying beep every time you press a button. In the middle of the night, I don't want to be waking others with that obnoxious beeping. My older radio did not have that annoying function and it's temperature reading was accurate.
Don't know what to say about our American companies sending their products overseas for manufacturing and they have no quality control over them.

E. Howard EH-23GA Gold Atomic Watch Review

E. Howard EH-23GA Gold Atomic Watch
Average Reviews:

With the advent of micro-electronics, watches (like digital cameras and cellphones), have become over-burdened with too many useless features. The delightful thing about this watch is its simplicity. Easy to set and use (through two buttons on the side, one of which is flat with the side of the watch), it does what a watch is supposed to do -- keep time accurately and display it clearly. Everything about this watch reflects quality and simplicity. It is truly an elegant product.
Because of the electronics required to receive the time by satellite each night, the case is somewhat thicker than other analog watches. This has not bothered me, but others may disagree.
If you do buy the watch, KEEP THE MANUAL. It contains instructions for what to do if the analog hands end up being out of sync with the electronic signal. This happened to me, and the only way to get them back in sync is to follow the detailed instructions in the manual.

Prices on this watch vary widely, so be sure to check out different merchants. Before ordering from Unbeatablesale, Inc., check them out on the Internet. You may want to consider shopping elsewhere. The Herrington Catalogue, among others, also carries this product, and at a lower cost.

Always know the exact time, whether at home or on the go, with this EH-12 series atomic watch from E.Howard by La Crosse. With its built-in receiver, the watch receives radio signals from the NIST WWVB Atomic Clock in Fort Collins, Colorado and resets the time and date nightly according to these transmissions. Likewise, the watch automatically adjusts for daylight savings time.
The watch\'s 1-1/2-inch diameter case features polished gold plated rims and a classic analog design. Protected by scratch-resistant crystal, black Arabic numerals and minute markers circle the 1-1/10-inch diameter dial. A .153-by-.31-inch LCD in the center of the watch face displays the date, the seconds, or the selected time zone and a radio-reception icon. To set the time, the user employs the two buttons on the side of the watch to select the proper zone from the twenty-four available settings. The watch then searches automatically for a signal from the WWVB to obtain the exact time and date for that time zone. With a 4/5-inch width, the brown leather wristband adjusts from 6-1/2 to 8 inches. This watch is water resistant up to 100 feet. Covered by a limited one-year warranty, the watch comes with a 3V CR1620 lithium battery installed.

Oregon Scientific RA123 Handheld Altimeter and Digital Compass Review

Oregon Scientific RA123 Handheld Altimeter and Digital Compass
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This little thing looks feature-packed, but in actual use most features are pretty much useless.
* It works as a clock, but not an alarm clock. I'm a very light sleeper, but I do not wake up from the quiet alarm on this device. Ironically, the beep from pressing the buttons is louder than the alarm ring - go figure.
* The compass just plain does not work. I literally had to recalibrate it several times a day. If I move even a mile, it stops working.
* The temperature reading is incorrect. This might not be due to any fault of the device, but unless you keep it outside your body away from body heat, and away from sun and sunlight, it will not show the correct temperature. So it's a pretty pointless feature.
* I didn't buy this device for the barometer & altimeter. I figured those would never be accurate anyway. I was still surprised when the barometer, freshly calibrated in the morning to reflect the sunny weather, would signal rain in the afternoon - even though it was still sunny with hardly a cloud in the sky.
* The LCD screen is very soft plastic, and will get scratched badly within days of use.
